Low beams look high?

Ever since I bought my truck, there have been quite a number of people who thought I was driving with my high beams on. Just this morning, I was behind someone on the highway when they slowed, let me pass them, pulled up behind me and switched on their own high beams. Anyone else have an issue with others mistakenly thinking your high beams were on?

What are you driving? Have you upgraded your headlights? Any modifications to your truck?

I have a 2016 F-250, and I'm getting blasted by everyone's high beams all the time. So I blast them back, lol.

I do at times.
Seems these trucks sit just enough higher that people believe you've got the high beams on. Of course this is dependent on have you had them checked? We have a State vehicle inspection and one of the items to check is headlight alignment. Some places don't always do it (especially on a new vehicle cause they believe it to be OK) but I always request it be checked.

NOT a LOL situation - You wonder why there is road rage! Better yet, why there is so much war around the world. Nobody knows how to get along anymore. You don't have to like everyone, just get along.

Problem is you, specifically the Fabulous LED or "blue high intensity" lights that are now available or standard on vehicles. Sure they are great to see the road perfectly at night, but that would be no different than older vehicles driving with their high beams on all the time. Frankly, what a dumb move by the automotive industry.

Realize that these new lights are "blinding" vehicles in front for a significant distance ahead and be as courteous as possible - possibly change lanes. Unfortunately, as well as being bright, they have a much wider beam too. They not only light up the lane the vehicle is on, but both lanes on either side too. Watch and look, you will see - I am surprised that drivers with these lights are "playing dumb" and pretend that they had no idea what the are doing to other drivers. There really is no good solution here, but don't get upset at another driver if he flashes you, just move on.

my commute car is a small fiesta. Yesterday morning a 250 was behind me and due to the height, and the fog lights were on I thought he had his highs on. They are very intense lights. I had to block my hand near my window as it was blinding in my side mirror.

I stopped flashing my lights back at people a few years ago because of goofs like this.

I don't have fancy lights on my truck. I have stock lights on my truck. Of people can't determine if my lights are on low beam when the fog lights are on, they deserve it. I can't help how bright they are.

Umm, the 2016 still has standard halogen lamps.
Yes I have the same issue with the low beams. People don't even seem to notice when the high beams though.

Big truck, low beams go straight into the oncoming vehicles 'face'. High beams go over their heads.......

I’ll add a gripe here. People who use fog lights all the time. No fog, turn the dang things off. The only time I use fog lights is at night, in a campground with the headlights OFF.

Wow nice attitude.. so if you -think- someone has their high beams on you turn yours on?? What if they are actually still on low beam?
Blinding someone who's coming at you head on and will pass you mere feet away at a combined approach speed of 100 MPH plus doesn't sound like a good plan.

My new truck does not have LED head lights but my trailer pushes down the tail just a couple inches. It's enough that I can see my low beams are going higher on the tail of the semi's than they should. I had air bags on my previous truck Donno what I'm going to do about this one.

I'm not going to go to the point of agreeing with "blasting them back" to be a jerk, but the people who see your lights, and assume you have your high beams on (when you dont) are putting their high beams on to be an a-hole. If you assume, and you go so far as to make the move to blind me with your high beams (when I'm doing nothing wrong), you deserve to get "blasted" back, if for no other reason than for me to let you know, you were mistaken. Flipping my high beams on is 100% proof that I'm not some idiot driving around with my brights on. If you make the determination that someone has their high beams on, be prepared for "proof" that they dont.

You know, this is child's play. I only give a quick snap of my high beams when someone does it to me. I'm not the ass that leaves them on and tries to blind the person you ass. I only give a quick curteous blink to let them know my low beams are on when flash me.

I get flashed (headlights that is) in my truck. I think it is probably due to the quad configuration of the new Superduty. I have flashed back, but most of the time I just use the fog line as my guide, as they pass.

I guess i should have worded my first statement better. Ford has always had bright lights on their trucks. I think it's only the right thing to do is just give a tap on the high beams to let know that you do have them on low beams. The LED lights they put on vehicles today are ten times brighter than mine on my truck. When they go by, I look at the white line to keep myself on my side of the road. Some people on here are acting like I pull a spot light out or something.
