Lp grill conversion to low pressure system

Our Columbus has an outside LP quick connection in order to attach a portable grill to (eg. Weber, Smoke Hollow, etc.) We have a 12' LP hose with quick connect ends we used with our Windjammer but all the portable grills we've look at come with a regulator and connect to a 1 lb/20LP tank. Has any one converted their portable grill to a quick connect system so you can it with your TT's outside connection?
If so How did you do it?
Thanks for your replies.
Happy Trails

From what I have read on posts here and Google searches many grills can be converted by removing the regulator and replacing with a male quick connect 1/8" or 1/4" npt fitting unless the grill has a proprietary threaded fitting. Just do a search on the grill you want before purchasing and someone has a YouTube video showing you how to do it. I am looking at the Weber Q 1200 grill.

I removed the regulator from a weber q and it works great. You can piece together the fittings or buy a kit. I love my Weber Q's, 2200 for the camper and 3200 for home.

I bought a Coleman ROadtrip and converted it. There is a tutorial on here (by me) on how it was done. I am sure it will come up under the search. It was done in 2016 or so maybe and still running well.

we converted our coleman roadtrip. do a couple of searches and you will find many articles and videos. you've already go the extension hose. basically buy a quick disconnect, remove the regulator from the grill, and put the proper side of the quick disconnect fitting on the grill tube. you will probably need 1/8" to 1/4" adapters as the grill tube and regulator are probably 1/8" and the quick disconnect is probably 1/4". go ahead and put the other side of the quick disconnect onto the regulator you removed. this way you can still use the grill as you currently do without depending upon the trailer propane source. check all connections for leaks.

I also converted my Coleman Roadtrip. It was easy. Just remove the regulator and replace with the QD fitting as mentioned above. Works great!

I like the kits from Torjik.

Here’s my write-up/review of my Weber Q conversion:

YouTube is the best...found a number of DIY videos on the grills we are looking at.
Thanks for the tip.

Very nice write up Doug, as usual. Our Coleman has done us well but takes a ton of space (due to the built in mount. ) I've looked at the Weber as an eventual replacement.

Agree. Torjik is a good one to convert out Weber Q1200. I got one from https://caloreequipment.com/
I got their deluxe setup that also puts a FM quick connect on the end of the original regulator so you can still use that connection for the small tanks if away from your low pressure quick connect at the camper. You can have it both ways.
If you know fittings, sizes and parts you can put your own together, but for me for less than $50 I decided to get it already figured out for me.

Youtube, and the videos/instructions on this forum are easy to follow. I converted our Coleman RoadTrip years ago based upon a Youtube video. It was an easy swap. The size of my Coleman, with the folding stand/wheels does have some size to it, but my Cardinal 3450 5th wheel came with a prewired generator 'box' that the Coleman fits into perfectly. I kept the Coleman regulator just in case, but haven't had a need to switch back.
