Lube for slideout

A couple of questions: I understand the need for a dry lube on stabilizer jacks to keep dirt from building up, but is dry lube really needed for slideouts where the gears retract into an enclosed underbelly and are not exposed when the camper is being towed or stored?

Also, what is a good brand of dry slideout lube that could be purchased at Lowe's or Wal-Mart without having to get one of the dedicated lubes at the camper supply places? Would WD-40 Silicone be considered a dry lube that work for this?

Thanks

Anything that can will attract dirt. Yes, dry lube on everything! Brands? Does not really matter. I buy from my local auto parts stores as needed
