Mackinaw island

Will be traveling to visit mackinaw island for the first time. Any suggestions of the campground that offers a shuttle to the ferry's so we don't have to unhook to go site seeing?

wish I could help you... we stayed at Straits St Park, St. Ignace, just north of the big bridge on I-75... nice place but don't recall a shuttle service... great views of the bridge at night, although a little noisy being so close to the interstate

Be sure get breakfast at Java Joes in St. Ignace... great people and small but inviting family run restaturant

The island is nice but touristy. Worth a trip though.

Never stayed at these but it looks like they offer it. Busy season so make reservations. Tee Pee Campground, Mackinaw City, MI, KOA, Mill Creek might too.

We tend to stay at Straits State Park over the bridge in St Ignace. No shuttle, but about a mile or so from the ferry. It's a nice town and great park.

If you have bikes you are all set. Ride to ferry. The island is best seen via bike anyway (IMHO). You'll be very limited if just walking but there are bike rentals on the island.

Mackinaw Mill Creek is a little out of town but the ferry people have a shuttle from the campground to the boat with a discount price.
