I've never found the dealership that would step up. How straight to FR.

I feel for you. These types of issues should not arise with a brand new unit. It is just sloppy work by so many people at so many levels. It is a sad state that some people do not take pride in their work.

Vin.

You would think that the "RV Techs" at the Dealer who are suppose to be more qualified than us Buyers would have the whole camper turned upside down to find/repair all issues before we get there for our PDI!?

A lot of times, that doesn't seem to work out that way...and these Techs are billed out at over $100/hr when you do have non warranty work done, which tells me they should be highly qualified/knowledgable at their craft...understandably, I feel for those with buyer's remorse.

Yeah the PDI is critical. When we did ours I must say I was impressed. The employee (who happened to be the owner's brother) went over everything in depth and essentially required us to operate everything in front of him. There was no rush and he answered every question. We haven't had to use the service department so I can't speak to that aspect. Maybe I was lucky and found a good dealer. Even the sales process was not bad. No pressure and no rushing. I told the salesman I'd call him back after I made a decision and he patiently waited for me to call. Other dealers lost out because they wouldn't leave me alone. Don't know if this is typical or not as this is my first tt in 40 years.

You would think these dealers would make sure your new rv is in perfect working order before you drive out but I see they don't. The last trailer we had for 16 yrs. It was a Mobile Scout with to slides and never an issue with it besides normal things like buying new tires, brakes, batteries ect...

The rv tech doing our pdi told us the techs are paid a flat rate for each trailer prep/pdi. He said he didn't prep our trailer and was furious at the guy who did. The tech doing our pdi was filling in for his co-worker who was off that day. He spent over 5 hours fixing things for us, stuff he said would never have gotten by him. He was supposed to be off by lunchtime (it was a Saturday) but he stayed until 5pm working on it. The service manager even came out and helped. It sounded like both were highly upset with the employee and they were gonna take money away from the guy who didn't do the job properly and give it to the guy who was actually fixing the trailer. Despite going over the trailer with a fine tooth comb ourselves, we still have a melody of issues (some big, some minor). Things break, I understand that. We are getting major things done now and will go back for the minor things after the season. Point is, even if they are billed out to forest river hourly, dealership is only paying them flat rate by the job.
