Mammoth Cave

Going here last week of march go a couple days as part of a loop that will include Memphis and Nashville.

Other than a few caves what else does mammoth cave are offer?

Any recommendations on campgrounds?

We stayed at Singing Hills last summer and it was pretty good. Cub Run cave was by far the best cave in the area. 45 minutes from the campground but well worth it. There is also some good hiking in the National Park.

Not trying to Hijack your thread but since you are talking about tennessee I am intrested as well

I am heading to Nashville and the North east part of Tennessee in the end of July - not sure if I am bringing the camper as of yet or not.
Would be intrested in what else is available or ideas as well since this will be my first staying trip to tennessee since I was in Memphis in 92

I don't know if this interests you guys, but the Corvette Museum isn't too far from Mammoth Caves. Its just north of Bowling Green, KY. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a beautiful drive. In Nashville across from the Grand Ole Opry is an outlet mall if you need to stretch your legs.

The OpryMills Mall should be back in operation soon after the big flood in Nashville. They were having a jobs fair this week to hire people for the new stores and businesses in the mall. It has been a slow process getting things back to normal. Lots of things to do around Bowling Green...

Mammoth Caves area - We recommend staying at Dog Creek COE on Nolin Lake. The park has nice level campsites on or near the lake with electric and water hook up. There is a back way into the National Park which includes a free ferry trip over the Green River. There are some great cave tours at the park as well as nice hiking and biking. The Corvette Museum is worth a visit.

Nashville Area - Recommend Seven Point COE campground on the east side of the city. Great campgrounds on a lake near the city. Reservations are needed. Lots to see in Nashville - Country Museum Hall of Fame, Franklin,TN - cute town, and much more.

Falls Creek Falls is a very nice park but is a ways outside of Nashville.

Enjoy the camping and be safe!

Fall creek falls isn't that close to mammoth. But it is a great place to visit. I've got family I'm that area and have spent many days there. I hope to camp there soon as well.
