Math wizards, this is for you!
The round landing gear pedestal is approx 8" dia. If I put 12" square blocks under each, am I spreading the weight enough to warrant their use? I know, I'm over engineering this, MY.

Well, the pedestal has 50.26 square inches and the 12" square has 144 square inches. So you're increasing the weight distribution 286%. That's assuming that the block is infinitely stiff.......

Well said Eric... we definitely need the weight and density of material you are using.

The round landing gear foot is 50.26 square inches. The area of the block is 144 square inches, so you are spreading the weight over an area that is 5 X larger than the landing gear foot by itself. In my non-engineering opinion, that's well worth their use. It certainly can't hurt to use them...

Uh Mike 144/50.265=2.864

If you are parking on soft ground or hot asphalt, the bigger blocks won't sink in as much. Same reason I added the alum covered pads to all my jacks.

Ok, I'll fess up. I was just really curious whether or not adding surface area to the pedestal was worth it. If I'm on a soft surface, the answer is definitely yes. Thanks.
No, Jersey Boy, I don't need a part time job. I've got a shed to go through. remember?

Yea and if a hen and half lay an egg and half in a day and half...how long would it take a roster to lay a door knob? (old mountain riddle, there is an answer that makes total sense)
Part of answer "Depends on how...."

The way I heard the answer was. "Give up? So did the rooster."
