Neither of our two Surveyors came with a decent mattress. Replaced both with after-market mattresses, which worked well for us. But yours may be fine. I'd wait and see.

Hidee ho,
Our 2012 Surveyor 220 Sport came with a mediocre mattress as well. We got a memory foam 3 or 4" mattress topper at Costco for under $200 that makes sleeping in our trailer like sleeping on our bed at home, very comfortable. Might consider a mattress topper after seeing how your factory mattress sleeps before buying an expensive new mattress. Happy Camping!

If you have a short queen you might get the foam/matress cover combo at a RV stores. Ours works great on a marginal matress.

Don't know about the stock mattress. Didn't want to take the chance. Figured there was must be reason the upgrade is offerred.
I ordered the Serta upgrade and have not been sorry. I consider it to be just a minor option that has proved to be well worth the cost. It is more comfortable and sleeps better than our more expensive mattress at home.

The stock mattress we got in our Surveyor was a brick. We tried a 3" topper from Overstock but it was too soft. We put the very dense 2" Costco on top of that and suffered hip & shoulder pains but still not ideal. Our current tt is a Chapparal with the upgraded mattress over which we put the 2 toppers and this is successful. Our advice is to avoid the stock item or add a 3 to 4" dense (heavy) topper.

We added a thick memory foam topper to the stock mattress in ours. Eventually, we'll upgrade to a nicer mattress but the topper made the bed pretty comfortable. We bought it at Target for about $90.
