Max air vent cover

Just went to CW and got the maxxair fanmate fan cover. Going to do my own test to see if there is a noticable difference in airflow. The fanmate is about an inch to inch and a half taller so that will probably make it win out due to opening vent cover more. CW price for GS member was $52 the store matched the Internet price. Bargain. No waiting for shipping.

Fantastic fan cover was more expensive and it bolts down where maxxair fanmate came other the clip hardware to attach to any fan.

I too used the Fantastic Vent brand covers designed specifically for Fantastic Vent. 3 years no complaints.

The Max Air vent covers bolt to the sides of the existing vent, very simple install. The Fantastic Vent covers require that you remove some sealant and existing screws and you have to screw them down into your roof and re-caulk it. No way was I wanting to remove any sealant and re-caulk when the Max Aire offered a much simpler install and not having to mes around with any caulking on my roof.

You may want to do an open search for the vent cover you are looking for. We bought 3 MaxxAir vents cheaper than the average price of the MaxxAir II. Often, the best price is not where you might expect it. And do it often, because the prices change quickly.

For instance, I found an item on Amazon at a really great price. Because we always discuss purchases beforehand, I took a few minutes to talk to DW. Went back on line to order and the price had jumped much higher. A recent eBay order was at a really great price. Having received the order, I decided to order more. The price had doubled with the same vendor. What I have learned to do when I see a good price is to get it into the cart to lock the price. If I find a better price, I go back and delete it from the cart. To do this on eBay, place the item in the cart. If you select "Buy now", you have committed to buy. On sites other than Amazon, I always use vendors that accept PayPal.

Great video. I don't think I'd be so interested in reduced air flow since the fantastic fan flows so well on low anyway. My preference would be that it mounts to the fan frame and not the roof and then that the white one will not yellow over time. I saw the camco at walmart for 20 bucks. Wasn't sure which one mounted to the vents frame instead of the roof else I"d got it.

Just installed my maxxair fanmate. What a breeze. Done in about 20 min. I added my own bug screen instead of buying the optional one by just using regular house screen I had laying around the house. Click image for larger version

Vent Covers

I have them on my 5th wheel and Truck Camper. Just take the screen out and you'll pick up a lot more air flow. The FF already has a screen, you don't need two.

The screen I installed does not reduce airflow that much and even though the fan has a screen in it I don't want to have to continuously clean out dead bugs from fan.

Done my own airflow testing.
