First Amazon has it right for the speed rating of 106 MPH for "r" rated ST.
Second the conflict that comes in is that Maxxis only recommends even the high speed ST tire that they call it is 65 MPH that's the law. Read the attached and it takes the myth out of speed ratings. Now this what I got but maybe some else can verify this.

Without a tire or picture of the tire sidewall showing the "Service Description" I would be VERY suspicious of information on the Interweb.
I have seen errors from a variety of tire companies web sites. This usually happens because the webmaster has no working knowledge of what a tire is.

This post shows one problem. People do not know how to "read" a tire sidewall and realize the "N" is the speed symbol part of the "Service Description"

My Constancy tires are pretty clear:

"Speed rating "L" (75mph/120km/hr MAX)"

(And we're really giving Tireman a workout today - thanks, Tireman!)

I'm sorry but I have "d" rated but where is the "L" your talking about? I can't see it or don't know where to look. They keep saying mine are are rated "R" but do not mean I can travel on them constantly at the 106 MPH which would never happen. Just tested at that speed....Thanks for the reply..

Double click on my pic to blow it up larger. The "L" is right above the word "MAX" and just below the "S" in the word "Service."

Actually, here's a better pic:

I'll check for that in the morning, but as Amazon stated the high rated ST are "R" per there web site and what the attachment said, I will look. Thanks for the information. Never heard of a high speed ST as they claim. I didn't see that on the tires, but they said they are High rated which is new "R" rated. How old are your max's. mine are 2 mos old is what they told me...Thanks

Tireman9, I'm not sure why you insist on calling me out on this. OP stated that Amazon has Maxxis tires with an R rating. I was fairly certain he was misinformed though Amazon. I knew my tires did not have an R rating. I just knew that they had a higher rating than 65 MPH (CRS). So I snapped a pic and posted it for the OP.

You can check the date code yourself, the 1st 2 digits are the week and the 2nd 2 digits are the year. A tire two months old from today would be coded 1816, 1916,2016, 2116 or 2216.

Week 18= May 2, 2016
Week 19= May 9, 2016
Week 20= May 16, 2016
Week 21= May 23, 2016
Week 22= May 30, 2016

Mine aren't maxxi's, they're "Constancy." Not sure their age, I have had trouble finding the age code. Purchased the TT June 2016.

I bought my 5er last December an hour after it was delivered as an inventory unit. The build date was 2 weeks earlier. I looked at the tires and saw the manufacture date was the 1st week of August but noticed the speed rated higher than 65 which was a surprise. Metal valves and 80# PSI. Yes, China bombs but with 3000 miles they have not had any problems. Plan to change when I return from FL next March with about 6500. Probably Max but still open.
