The 4x4 gave us more payload (if I understand that correctly), it should work fine for us.
We didn't order this truck, it was the last one of only 2 left in the state with the 373 option, which was very important to us.

4x4 gives ya LESS payload generally...because the weight of extra axle and transfer case comes off paylaod (gvwr)

According to ford.com, the 4x4 gives me 1860, and 4x2 is 1810.

And youll be more than fine with that paylaod and ur trailer...unless your putting a golf cart and some kegs in the truck bed!!..lol..heck u could pull 2 of your trailers for taht matter......unless u plan on a 8k dry upgrade or a 5er that truck will do and then some.

Edit....I put the kegs in my golf cart...so IT has the payload...not the truck!!!.hahahaha

Nie truck! Don't worry to much about tires and payload you have plenty. Of coarse the next RV show you go to could be very dangerous what with all the extra towing capacity . LOL Enjoy!

All things equal u would be closer to 2000lb paylaod with 4x2.....im assuming u have a 145" wheelbase supercrew? I cant find any instances where an exactly equipped 4x4 has more payload on the ford chart I see?...its really a moot point...just bored today..all my clients cancelled b/c its too cold...lol

I'd have to look up the wheelbase...it's a 5.5' bed, super crew. I got the payload numbers from the Build & Price area.
