Bald Mountain Camping Resort in Hiawassee, GA. Weather looking good. Never been to this particular campground. It has good reviews. I will report back.

DH and I are heading to California, but we are flying. I have a conference in San Francisco the middle of next week, so we are headed out for ten days of vacation. I have never been, so am looking forward to it. We will be road tripping when not at the conference. When we retire, we hope to spend a month or more in the state so we can see more.

Loose Caboose in/near Gap, PA just outside Lancaster. Might end up being a miserable travel event, traveling Friday night and Monday afternoon. We normally don't travel to high traffic areas on holidays, but making a special trip for my mom who doesn't travel well these days. She was a camping fool back in her hay days.

Elkmont Campground in the GSMNP. This will be our first trip to the Smokies and we can't wait. It was one of the "bucket list" trips when we bought our RV two years ago. Hiking, fly fishing, and taking in the beauty of the park.

We cancelled our Memorial Day trip to Lakewood in Myrtle Beach. My back went out in March and I am done for the next few months.
Thanks to the vets!

Holidays...............

Humbug!

Now that we are retired, one of the greatest things is being able to camp/travel when the rest of the world is working.

April, May, early June. Then September and October. Best weather, little traffic, etc.

Yes, I'm trying to make all you worker bees jealous. I busted my buns in the workplace for almost 50 years and now it's my time. Woo Woo!

This is the only traffic jam I want to see:

We are indeed living the dream. I do indeed love the RV life.

No camping. Hanging out at the lake house on Lake Oconee. Watching all the fools on the lake (we call weekends and holidays "amateur hour").

No camping for us this weekend. Besides avoiding crowded CGs, this Sunday is a auto racing fan's greatest day: Monaco Formula 1 Gran Prix, Indy 500, and the Coke 600. We will smoking briskets while glued to the tv.
