EXACTLY!!! That's what makes it so unusual, that the "Public" is authorized at Ft McCoy. Yes, public attending graduations is reasonable, but rampant public use is not!

I filed a complaint with the US Army MWR director in DC and quite a few employees here agree with me. Winter rates are awesome at $360 a month full hookups and small perks.
I know it doesn't seem right, but often Garrison Commanders will open certain facilities on an installation to surrounding communities. As MWR is a non-appropriated fund entity it may be a revenue decision. Who knows? Did you ever get a response from DC?

No reply yet other than a questionnaire.

Met with the MWR #2 today and seriously his answer was I do not care what you (DAV 100%) active duty or anybody thinks.

My response was you were placed and demoted to #2 due to your lack of education and experience, watch me have a full audit completed.

PS his demotion was locally published I have lived here since October last year.

He lied about 10 other things and I pulled video and evidence up. Bottom line if your an E6 over 6 this place is more expensive than any of the ones I posted and offers CATV no other gratis things.

Anyhow that is my battle and in my many years in service (MP) and as a civilian Federal cop I have never lost a battle with Uncle Sugar. It might take 6 month or 6 years but I will get this place brought to reasonable rates for our troops. Many of the employees support me here and have reported things through Whistle Blower act.

If you have an iphone there is a free app available in itunes store called the ultimate military campground project. It shows all military campgrounds and links you to the campground individual website that will give you up to date information on prices, activities, directions ect. There may also be an andriod app for those whom do not have iphone Im not sure but would be surprised if there is not one. Additionally, there is a web site maintained by a retired usaf member that allows you to create an account and log into for free. This site also has reviews of the campgrounds documented by military community. If you log in as a guest you can not write reviews. For a nominal fee i think 20 bucks will get you full access to all campground reviews and also allows members to write reviews. He will also send you a cd that can be used without internet access. www. Militarycampgrounds.us take a look. Ive used it for several years and really like it.

I found out at Fort Fisher campground in Kure Beach NC which is actually Seymour Johnson Air Force base campground. What they were doing was in the off season they were renting to rv clubs. The campground had 16 full hookups and they would rent all the spots to the club as long as one person had a Military ID card, retired or active duty. I could not get in often but when I found out what was happening and called the base commander but got nowhere there. I wrote my congressman for all the good that done. I think the policy has changed some, new base commander. Base commanders are like gods, they get to set policy.
