Smile Mirror upgrade

I got tired of having to put the slip on "towing mirrors" on every time I towed and the fact that they never did work the way I wanted them too. Never quite adjusted to give me the view I wanted. So I ordered a set of extendable towing mirrors. Should have done this awhile back. Easy to install. Took 1/2 hour or so.

I did the same thing for my f150. No more major vibration which made slip on basically useless. Plus mine were not much more than new slide i

Biggest hustle for mine was taking inside of door off to get to bolts.

Yeah, taking the door panels off was the hardest part!

We ordered telescoping tow mirrors for our F-150 from 1A Auto.com and really liked them, until I broke the bottom passenger side while weed whacking the driveway. However, these are sold only in pairs and I just can't justify spending another $200+ just to replace the right side. So if anyone has a broken driver's side mirror in the same style, I'll split costs with you! (2010 Ford F150 Truck Manual Upgrade Towing Mirror Pair at 1A Auto.com)

I bought these also, there is a video on youtube that shows the procedure on a Chevy. There may be more truck videos, found it invaluable. The only thing I don't like about the setup is that the mirror (I mean the actual mirror, not the whole assembly) vibrates, the stock mirrors did not. Gotten used to it now so it's not a deal breaker.

Mirror upgrade

rmac04401, thank you for telling me about the single mirror option. Ordered on Thursday morning, received Friday afternoon. They do have the videos for other trucks, we used the Ford video first time around.
I might need to order a few new clips for the door panel, as I think I broke at least one last time. Now, just need the wind and rain to go away so we can install.

Glad it worked out for you. I like my mirrors. So much better than slip ons. Was always afraid of having someone steel them. Mine are power on top so easy when wife drives to readjust.
