Motorhome is looking real good right about now!

OK,, so I am sitting here in a torrential downpour and me and hubby are taking turns unhooking camper. We have yelled at each other till we are blue in face. I also watched a couple this weekend try to unhook and get set up in 100 degree weather with 2 small children.. They seriously almost killed each other along with the 2 kids..
I think the motorhome mentality is kicking in...Motorhome is looking real nice about now. NO set up,, just pull up and camp ,, right? I think I like that about right now.

Honestly, it takes us 10 maybe 15 minutes to set up....and that's taking our time.

I almost brake a sweat cause on mine you half to hold the buttons in. Oh I get taken out.
Really I like our MH because it's easy. I couldn't hook and unhook a 5er or trailer. Neck and back wouldn't put up with it. I planed on a 5er and a big diesel truck but you play the hand your dealt.

Just remember that if you don't have a toad you have to break camp to go anywhere. I have seen people have to do this and that is one disadvantage of a MH.

So there you go sheri....you have input from a couple of M/H owners. ...it is imperative that your index finger is in satisfactory shape and that you maintain an adequate work out regimen for any additional digits in case of a need to alternate.

Re the rising BP when breaking down or setting up;

Sneak and I have divided the work. There are specific things *he* does, and specific things that *I* do. Then there are things we both do....OCD kicks in.

I do not get involved in the hitch and unhitch (5er) except to help hold the skid plate level while he backs up to it and to yell "GOT IT" when the jaws lock.

I extend and retract landing gear/stab jacks while he does other things ....that's a slow, time consuming chore.

I also help place and remove chocks and X chocks and help with the "light check".

Other than that, set up and break down is divided between inside and outside. He does all the cords, hoses and cables. I do all the slides, unpacking breakables, set up "the bar" , etc.

As for the toad, 2 minutes at most since we tow 4 down. Taking our time setting up maybe 10 to 15 minutes, depends on how much we get out of the large storge bays, chairs, bikes, mats etc. We have watched others with 5th wheels and TT set up and say no thanks, will keep the motorhome.

I've had fivers, camp regularly with family that owns TT.

Another vote for MH from me. Just like the others have said. 10 mins and done. The toad is no problem either, especially in a pull thru site.
