When someone else does it you generally get some sort of warranty and that's important to many folks. Really his business only.

The valve is installed way up on the tank itself and connects to the dump handle by a cable. Not really as easy of a repair as he thinks.

disposable

[QUOTE=ManlyMan;1338475]I would always pay someone to deal with even the simplest black tank issue and for that matter most other issues. You have also simplified the repair by conveniently leaving out the process of removing covering to expose the tank and valve, not to mention having to get under the trailer. For many older RVers with joint and health issues that isnít a good idea. And yes, I have large amount of disposable income and[QUOTE] Iím sorry you havenít fared better in life.

Good one!!!

Last guy I let work on my tank valve pinched the gasket, found out it was leaking several days into a 3 week trip.

I know you were replying to a post from someone who might have been ridiculing the fact that someone may have a much larger nestegg than he does.

That said everyone has not busied themselves collecting money in this lifetime. I do not have a fortune in the bank or an investment account. What I DO have are experiences and memories that are much more precious to me than mere dollar bills. Everyone makes their own choices in life, based on what they feel is best for themself at the time.

What I HAVE learned is that happiness is NOT getting what you want, it is in wanting what you have got!

Now that bit of snarkeyness brought a smile. 1st not all able to retire young comfortably " busied themselves collecting money in this lifetime". Some were simply lucky enough or smart enough to invest their time and or funds in a productive manner. Most are very happy with what they have and do not look down on those with less, not even those with more. Yes "
Everyone makes their own choices in life.." and some make better choices to overcome hurdles we all have thrust at us at times. Some even find a mentor to emulate or follow instead of accusing them of being busy "collecting money in this lifetime". One thing that makes those comfortable happy is helping others less fortunate.

I agree with this. I know I would appreciate the extra effort if I was the one working on it. If nothing else, it shows how considerate you are.
