My camp fire tonight...

Winter storm warning in effect for the next 18 hours...family and I dreaming about our first scheduled trip next month...we decided to build a fire, grill out and build a snow man. Plus dad gets a few campground cocktailsClick image for larger version

You're getting the snow that is dumping on us right now traveling north-east up I-44 from where we are here in Springfield, MO.

Don't know about 140 yrs but I do know where I am in NY State was the coldest place in the country ,according to the National News, to many times for me. I can honestly say I'm sick of winter.

Bodega

Crabs are calling me. Out West we aren't really having a winter. I just need to flush out the antifreeze and get ready for a Friday 13th trip to Bodega Bay. Now that I fixed a few problems (reefer, brakes, break-away switch, faucet, etc.) I should be good. The flush valve on the head cracked yesterday and leaked anti-freeze all over the floor, but that's an easy one. Hoping for 3 days of crabs and surf perch assaults.

We are there for 8 nights in late may....my kids are over the moon for this trip. This will be my youngest's first time seeing the ocean. We are so ready having not really taken a "vacation" in a few years. Take some photos if you would....what site are you in???

Same but different, we are allowed a permit for having a fire pit in our city, so when we are not camping it is not uncommon to find us sitting out back around a "Campfire" in our backyard. Nothing like the smell and crackle of a wood fire. Looking at your leading picture reminds me of that.

What's winter, we have been in the 50'es and now looks like
the 60'es here in Western Washington here on Saturday,
no snow in the mountains per say.

Only problem with this is that fire season will more than
likely be really bad

Daughter came from Delaware to snow board and ski,
told her she should have stayed home
