My Heat reduction attempt

So just got done tinting my rig. My hopes are that this will really keep some of the radiant window heat out. I used 20% dark Highly reflective metalized tint (normally used on commcercial building). Supposed to block 99% UV and 85% heat transfer.

Where did you find the highly reflective tint? I am thinking of doing the same to mine.

I know that the darkest automotive tint dropped our temps in our car by 30 degrees so I'm sure you will see the same or better out of your tint.

I got it from Amazon. A 36" x 15ft roll was enough to finish with extra. I've tinted professionally when I was younger so it wasn't hard. Flat glass is actually a little harder because you won't have perfect frameless edges like with car windows. Wasn't hard though. Time consuming

This is what I ordered: Geo Window Film Highly Reflective 36" X 15' - Extra Dark https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S5U8ZOA..._uqpXvb9AMQ9PS

I suggest you ignore the bad reviews. Most bad tint reviews are from people who have no idea how to install tint properly. Even though my package arrived crinkled at the end, it still went on perfectly.

They both have a limited selection and generally won't have highly reflective dark tint

Questions......I think I would like to do that also. Does that darken the inside? Does it make looking out darker during the day and impossible to see out at night? Thanks.

I wouldn't say it makes it easier to see in at night, but it does reverse the refletiveness. Whichever side is darker is the side that can see through. This tint is actually not just reflective, it has 20% darkness as well, so yes, it doe$ make it darker during the day and still makes it difficult at night to see in. But we close Our shades at night regardless.

Well, let me slightly modify what I said. During dusk, while its almost as dark outside as it is inside you can't see through the tint at all from the outside. With all the lights off inside you can't see in at all either. It pretty much has to be midnight dark outside with several lights on inside to see through, even then, not easily.
