In reality there are 4 good months to visit MB for those without school agers. Apr/May and Sept/Oct. Both periods are off season so prices are lower and the area is a lot less crowded. Sept/Oct is best as the ocean temps are still warm while Apr/May the temp is still quite cool. I live a short distance from there and almost never go down, just too crowded. Nice place to visit.

The new water park in Ocean Lakes should be open around Memorial Day I'm not much on water parks but the kids are.

Thanks radman and Captnjohn. We did our first trip to MB last year and stopped 1/2 way so I convinced the wife to drive straight through leaving 4 or 5 in the morning. I'm not sure I could make it on my own leaving the night before. We will be stopping 1/2 way on the way home (KOA in VA) thinking we won't be modivated to get up early to leave.

For me, it's a 12 hour drive straight through. I stop in VA somewhere.

Highs in 60s now, but woke up here one February with a few inches of snow. Loved it.

Had to leave Ocean Lakes a day earlier than planned in Jan. 2014 as the overnight low was predicted to be 16! It would have been impossible to winterize the 5th wheel as the water drains would have been frozen closed. We did have some nights in the 20's this last Jan. but when it was time to winterize and come home it was in the upper 50's.

You are fortunate. My wife would never drive pulling anything. She always drive my trucks until December when I brought home the F250. Thinking she would pull the 5er with a truck she will not drive brings a smile!

DW will drive my truck not pulling anything but will not pull the camper. When we had the small travel trailer she would pull it out west but not with the fifth wheel

My wife, Renée, has towed the Wildcat 66 miles, across the flat lands of Nebraska. That's it for her unless an emergency. Don't ask her to hook up the fifth wheel to the truck. She will call on one of you camper buddies to do that😅
