How about an IR link to the stereo thats located in another room? If your remote worker in that room, but the stereo is in another, thats it.

RPAspey I think that you are correct. The only thing is I don't have the remote sometimes over the last 5 yrs it got misplaced and since I've never used it (remote wise) it wasn't a problem. But I started trying to figure it out while laying on the bed and the more I thought of it the more I wanted to find out what it was. Now the part is WHERE DO YOU FIND A REMOTE FOR THIS UNIT? RS-1247B/1248B. I've looked on ebay but nothing come close to the photo in the owners manual. Guess I'll just duct tape over it just incase it is BIG BROTHER watching.
