Need help with Keys!!
Hello all. I have a 2013 rockwood 8312ss and I am having trouble with the locks and keys. I have the key to the door of the rv and also the ch 751 keys to the outside shower and one compartment on the other side. However I do not have the keys to the front 2 storage doors as well as the outdoor kitchen locks. They are the black latches. These locks are riveted to the panels so hard to get a code. Anyone have an easier way to get these keys?? Thanks in advance!

Did you lose your keys or never had them and just now decided you need them? Did you buy the unit from a dealership? If so, ask them. Did you buy the unit from an individual? If so, ask them for the keys.

I bought it from a used dealer. And he bought it from auctionow with no keys. I've bought all the keys I have I'm just missing these.

If they are what they call "Slam Latches". Ours are made by Southco and it looks like it might be a universal key, as the web page describes it as "Locking, Reversible R001 (2 Keys Included)". Our keys have Southco and R001 on them.

I just came back from my trailer to report I have R001 keyed locks on the side storage doors of my Wildcat. You might borrow one from another camper to try. B-I-L has R001s on his trailer too.

I'm sorry to say it's not visible on my latch - inside or out... only on the key.
That's why I suggested borrowing a key to see if it fits.

There are two R001 keys one is a single cut the other is a double.

wow, kind of like a treasure hunt! auctioneer didn't open to see what was in the compartment, dealer didn't open to see what was in the compartment. get the keys and open it up. you may find nothing, you may find a gold mine. any bets on what will be found?

Take a photo of the lock and take it to a locksmith. They should be able to make you a key.

Pretty sure I read on another forum that unless you specifically ordered the slam latches with a certain key number they are R001.
My slam latch keys are double cut and I'm pretty sure just about any good RV sales/parts department has them.

Any Rockwood dealer should have keys. You may have to take the unit there or buy 1 of each. They're cheap.

Call in Geraldo. He'll probably make a stunning documentary on it as they work their way in. Similar results I'd expect. There's only so many keys. Check around your cg. You'll find it.

All my outside compartments use the same key on my TT unit. You sure the locks just haven't frozen up?
