Need some advice

During college football season we leave our Cardinal in an RV park. We go there for every home game. Our home is about 4 hours away. When we leave, we always pull in the slides. We left there this morning and once we got home, we can't remember if we turned off our fireplace heater. The fireplace doesn't get hot to the touch and when the slides are in, it is not close to or touching anything. I know this was a dumb thing to do (if we did leave it on), but has anyone ever done this? Should we be concerned? We are headed back on Friday morning. Thanks for your help.

I myself would not want to leave any electrical appliance turned on if no one is there. I know it is 4 hour trip one way but to me if this was my trailer, I would head back and make sure the fireplace is off.

Call the place where you keep it and have them turn the power off if it does not have to be on. Otherwise a ride is in your future!

Thanks! That's what we plan on doing. My gut told me that it wouldn't be good to leave it on.

I don't think so. Last weekend we ran it for at least 10 hours and it never shut off. When we get back, I'll see if there is a timer. We are still newbies (less than a year) and learning.

If you turn off power to the camper how long will your batteries last. What kind of refrigerator do you have? Was the refrigerator left on, was there any food left in the refrigerator

I'm not sure how long our batteries will last. Our refrigerator should switch to propane when the electricity goes off. We don't have very much in there so if we run out of gas, it won't be the end of the world.

You should have somebody shut the power off to your RV, wait a minute or two, then turn it back on. Your fireplace shouldn’t turn back on once the 120 is interrupted.
