New camper.

Hello all,

I'm brand new here (this is my second post). We just brought home a 2015 Flagstaff Classic 8528IKWS. We are setting it up and so far it seems to be a really nice unit. Definitely a step up from our 2004 Coachman Chapparal 278RKS.

There is one problem though. My wife is having a fit over the blue led lights in the fridge! She already had me take the lights out. I really don't disagree with her. Blue light makes food look gross! Anybody have the same problem? Anybody got a solution?

On another subject, I'm looking forward to playing with the Reese Revolution pin box. I'm pulling with a Chevy 2500HD extended cab w an 8' bed. Moving the pivot point back seems interesting. I've got a tool box in the bed and things are a little close.

Any tips are appreciated.

I'm enjoying the site, with all the tips and advice.

Thanks in advance
Larry

Congrats on the RV and happy camping!

What bulb did you take out if the fridge? Replace with white bulb?

No bulbs. A solid circuit board with 6 LED lights soldered in place.

Measure the voltage (prob 12vdc) and solder in some white ones!

These ones are easy to work with:

That's what I am thinking. I'm not sure the rope LEDS will work. I really need individual lamps. I'll have to look for them.

Well, let's see...
I think I've got two photos attached. One from the front showing the 6 LEDs and one from the back showing the circuit board

From my phone or a camera import to a PC, from there I upload to my photo album.

Then I use the IMG insert icon, Copy IMG from album, past to IMG insert, ok.

Then I just preview post to make sure I did not goof it.

And welcome from SW Idaho...

At the Search (top right) type in: Blue light. Many threads on this subject from people who don't like the blue refrigerator light and includes Dometic contact information.. Last I knew I think Dometic was replacing these with a white light for free due to complaints.
I happen to like the blue light so I haven't made a call..

Ain't it funny how people have so many views and opinions on different things! My wife loves the blue LEDs; I don't really care one way or another. I also have an 8' bed but see no reason to activate the Reese. Isn't this forum great?!?

It is great! Different people, different lifestyles but common ground in that we all love RVing.

I'm taking the camper away this weekend for the first trip. I'm going to leave the reese in the standard configuration and see how it goes. Next trip I'll change it and then decide. I am thinking about activating the Reese even though I have an 8" bed because of two things. 1) I have a big toolbox in my bed and 2) the terrain where I live is mountainous. I have to turn the RV around to get it parked and the terrain makes it really easy to get the truck bed or the toolbox in contact with the camper. Moving the pivot back may really help. We'll see.

My tool box is kind of big but it is well out of the way.
I can pack my B&S generator behind it with no clearance problems.
