New campsite sign
Probably close to ten years ago I took a day class on router use at my local Lee Valley Tools. Shortly afterwards I bought a router and around the same time, a signmaking template kit. I've used the router but, until recently, not the kit. I figure it was high time - I found a suitably rustic piece of wood in our shop stock and made a sign. It's far from perfect but it's perfect for us!
Started off on the left edge of the board.
Next step - cut the board into two equal lengths and add the names - John (that's me), Dawn (that's DW), Emily (DD) and Bella (the camping kitty).
Last step - the hardware.
Looking forward to displaying it for the first time this coming weekend.

Sounds like a retirement business to me... I see them at county fairs...routing custom signage on pine boards, staining them to look like hardwood and selling them for big bucks.....
Go for it...

Again, thanks for the kind words, folks.
We were picking up our daughter at school last week when I came across an old broken bike pedal. I figured I could add reflectors to the sign... style AND safety!
The first step was to disassemble the pedal. I ground off the peened ends of the grips, put the pedal in the vise and tapped it with a hammer. That did the job. And now I had some rivets to remove.
I ground off the backs of the rivets...
... and went back to the vise to tap them out with a punch (bad photo).
Now all the parts were separate.
A little measuring and a couple of holes...
... for the #4 x 1/2" button head hex screws I would use.
Reflectors...
Reflecting!
