My wife and I seen one at a fair last fall and fell in love with it. 2 months go by and Merry Christmas to us we bought it. I think the 50 amp service will be good but I know I will have to buy a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter cord because some of the campgrounds we go to do not have 50 amp service.
We have never seen any other campers with cathedral slides either.
We went with the 33rl also. the other one they had was a 29re and I didn't like the TV where it was at. We are going to be fulltimers in about a year when our son graduates college.

Check out the whole silverback line they all have cathedral slides. There is no other line or mfg that has them that I know of. We love our 29re. Silverback Fifth Wheel Floorplans by Forest River

I don't think any other manufacturers have cathedral ceilings, yet. On the plus side rain and debris come off easily, on the minus side slide toppers/awnings are not an option.

I like the idea that rain, leaves, small twigs would slide off the slideouts...

new owner

Just bought a Silverback 33REA. Love the bedroom design with the angled bed. First year will have it parked in a campground while we get it set up the way we want for touring. We spent over a year looking at different 5ivers, nothing compared to the Silverback and having just comeback from a RV show, didn't see anything we liked.
Presently look at getting the tow vehicle, probably will be a Silverado crew cab 6.0 with a 4:10 ratio and 4 wheel drive.

Hi! New 29 RE owners here. The only drawback if you want to call it that. The power cord for 50 amp service is heavier, thicker and stiffer than a 30 amp cord. But having more power available may be a big plus!
