New Generator

Has anybody used a Champion Power Equipment 73536i 2,000 Watt 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Inverter Generator. The price is great & at 53Dba it's quieter than the Honda. I am looking for something to freshen up the batteries while we are 4-wheeling & to run the heated mattresses. Thx for the input. Here is link:

there are literally hundreds of posts here about Champion generators.
and at RV.net Tech Issues section, there are thousands of them.
any quick Google search will bring up enough reading, to keep you occupied for the next 6 months.

they have been around for a number of years and are a proven product.
there are a couple of companies that sell refurbished ones, for even less than the Amazon price.

We bought ours a few weeks before Christmas at Cabela's for $429 on sale and using a coupon . I did alot of research and think we made the right purchase. We have 2 generators and the parallel kit for the price of 1 Honda or Yamaha. That said, i haven't used them for camping yet

like i said, thousands of posts/threads about it there.
i don't think you can say it's quieter than a Honda. nearly all real world comparisons say the Champion is slightly louder and a different type of sound, than the Honda.

I have the Champion 2000 and highly recommend it. It may not be quieter than a Honda, but it is just as quiet. They are both rated at 53 db.
It is very easy to start, sometimes it takes 2 pulls to start, but usually just 1 pull.
At half the price of a Honda and the same warranty, you can go wrong.

My experience with a Champion 2000 was not good,,bought it from Amazon and never got it running right. Always very hard to start. Couldn't find a local authorized dealer for warranty and ended up at a regular small equipment shop. Too much $$ and still wouldn't work. Finally gave it away and bought two Hondas. FWIW, find a local repair shop to service whichever one you choose before you buy.

I had a similar bad experience with a Champion genny. Bought the 3100 inverter on Amazon in August, didn't work right out of the box (leaked gas out the carb,) had carb replaced by local Champion warranty shop in September, still didn't run right, finally sent it back to Champion directly end of October. They replaced the carb again and the control board. It now seems to run right, but I won't know for sure until I use it this spring. Kudos to them for stepping up, paying for return shipping, and getting it back to me in (what appears to be) working condition.

Thx for all for the info/input. After countless hours of research, reading reviews, & YouTube videos I have decided to go with the Champion Power Equipment 73536i 2,000 Watt 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Inverter Generator. It will do everything I need it to & do it very quietly. Now on to the PUG's. I think I am going with the Very High Wind version.

I hate to say it I looked at the Champion when I got a notice from the rangers at New Melones Res in Calif They said my generator was to loud. So I went searching for a new one. I have been a Honda guy from the early 60's (then I went Ford, Harley, John Deere and Honda in that order) but Honda has always been reliable so I decided on the Honda EU3000 Inverter. I know Champion comes from China and may be quite but in my book Honda is very reliable and very quite. I went back to Melones and the ranger was happy and I was allowed to run the Honda all night on slow mode if I needed. At $1989.00 delivered last year it was worth the buy. That just my two cents for what it's worth.

One more thing if you run a micro wave or a roof top air a 3000 watt is much better. Just saying
