New Parking Pad

While our TT was at the dealer for some warranty work, we were finally able to get the work on our new parking pad started yesterday. Had to have 3 trees cut down to open up our driveway some more, and still need to get the stumps grinded, finish spreading the gravel, and remove the brush pile, but it's coming along nicely. Picking up TT tomorrow and heading for the beach, but when we return from the shore, the driveway will be finished. Next step will be to add an electric box and RV cover. The RV cover will be 18x36x12 and I'll still be able to park my truck and DW's car between the deck and the RV cover.

Nicely done on the parking pad! I'm not used to large open areas next to a house either. The area shown in the picture would be a complete nieghborhood here in SoCal.

I'm looking forward to seeing the cover installed.

Might as well have them install a 50 amp plug as well as the 30 amp.......

Yeah, the house in one picture and the garage in another belong to two different neighbors. We live down a gravel road to begin with and each of us (the two neighbors and ourselves) have a little over 3 acres. I realize now our house does not appear in any of these pictures. After we get back home, we'll go shopping for the RV Cover. I'll post more pics of the finished product once installed.

Those pics remind so much of when we had ours put in last year. I also have a couple of pics of the guy on his Bobcat spreading the gravel.
We had them install the mobile home anchors on ours. Something you might think about if you haven't already. I know we've had at least some 60 mph sustained winds and the cover has done great.
You'll like the 18' width. We did the same. Plenty of room to open the slides and leave enough room on the other side for easy access to the tt.
It's well worth it and I'm sure you're going to enjoy having it. I look forward to seeing the pics when it's finished.

I remember yours well, Gary. In fact, when I saw your pics last year, I told DW that I REALLY wanted to try to get something like that done to our driveway in 2012. Ours won't be as "fancy" as yours lol, but it will serve it's purpose, and I'm excited to finally be taking steps to get ours done. We got a quote for an 18x36x10 back in January, but I've only got one quote so far, and I think we can get an 18x36x12 for about the same price. Definitely wanted to get 18' to be able to open the slides, as we've spent several nights in our TT in past years where those Noreaster's dropped a foot of snow and knocked the power out of our S&B. Thank goodness for the generator and the TT during those times!

Well, it took a little longer to finish our driveway than expected, um like 4 months longer! I won't bore anyone with the details, but let's just say we had to file a lawsuit and leave it at that lol. It's all good though. Anyway, we got someone else to finish our diveway finally, and today we are finally having our RV cover installed. Here are some pics of the finished driveway, an I'll post some pics of the RV cover once it's finished. Had to have 5 stumps dug up first, before the rest of gravel could be spread. Oh, and I got a new to me truck too during the time the driveway was started and finished...woot!!

i thought i had stumbled across garage journal. had to recheck where i was at. sorry to hear lawyers are involved, but it looks like it will be great when finished.

We went with an 18x36x10 cover with mobile home anchors. We were going to add an elecric box, but we're actually still able to plug into our outside house outlet just like we've always done. Here's a few pics of yesterdays install:
