I too have a contractor type generator that was a bear to lift.

Replaced it recently with a 3500W Champion. Not really a big deal which brand, the difference between the Contractor type and Inveter type is the closed sides which make it easier to brace against your body while lifting.

I lift my Champion off the ground and set it on an "Milk Crate". Once off the ground I can squat, grab it low, and using my legs raise it to the tailgate of my Nissan Titan which isn't the lowest tailgate in the truck world. The two step method and being able to hold the unit easier than the contractor type where I end up with a piece of the engine poking me in the sternum makes it easier.

PS: I'll be turning 75 this January

I did see on a youtube review some folks having good luck with it running the RV A/C and other stuff. Also on one video it said it comes with an RV ready adapter; wish it was an RV ready plug on the panel but if it's got the adapter included, I'm good.
Hello ... DH would like to know from where you got the coupon?

Thanks

Can't say where his coupon came from but I just threw away a coupon from HF that was part of a flyer that wrapped my "Tuesday Trash" that the USPS stuffs in my mailbox every Tuesday.

That may depend on where one lives in the Country but here, every Tuesday another HF flyer wrapped around all the other ads. If I still had a fireplace in the house I could heat the house for at least three months just from my junk mail.

My HF email coupon for $649 on the Predator expired on 8/6...

you can go to the HF website and sign up for emailed coupons. I have only seen the 3500 Predator on sale twice at $50 off with coupon... hopefully they will do it again for you.

So can you run two predator 3500s with the parallel? The kit says 4000 watt max 3200 running watts.

from the HF website...
Double your power with parallel capability
212cc air-cooled OHV gas engine
11 hour run-time @ 25% capacity
Digital LCD Screen with low oil, overload and output light indicators
Integrated smooth-rolling casters for portability
Electronic overload protection
(2) 120VAC grounded outlets, (1) 120VAC, 30A Outlet, (1) DC-12V Two Pin Outlet
Hassle free Electric start for quick and easy starting

that should give you a steady 6400 watts

Look at the parallel kit, its just 2 sockets. I dont think this is a true double your power parallel kit.

So what is the use of parallel kit? Only provides dual outlets at 30 amp... you already have two 30 amp outlets with two generators... right? what are we missing here? a 50 amp outlet?

Well if you could double the output it would be sweet. But 4000 max is kind of silly to buy two of them.

Maybe there is a different parallel kit for the 3500 watt Predator?
I'm going to call and ask.

The kit listed on HF web site is only rated at 4000w MAX so I'm thinking it is for the 2000w models.

I suppose it's possible that since this unit is fairly new, HF doesn't have their web site updated with the current/necessary information for the 3500.

EDIT:
Just got off the phone with HF... the 62564 Parallel kit that HF sells IS NOT compatible with the 3500w Predator. It is for the 2000w models only.

The 3500 is parallel capable and HF is working on a heavier parallel kit but it is currently not available from HF.

The guy I spoke with said his engineers were hopeful it would be ready for sale soon, whatever that means. He could supply no further information as to its capabilities, price or availability.

I was thinking the same thing. Didn't really know who to call and didn't figure the store would know anything.

I had downloaded the manual which had a technical hotline for HF.
I knew the folks (at least the purple spiked hair guys at my store) wouldn't have a clue.
In fact the guy I spoke with at the hotline said many of the the store associates were recommending the 2000w kit erroneously.

The hotline was knowledgeable and helpful but didn't supply the answers many of us were hopeful to have heard... as of yet.

HF hotline claims that's what you'll be able to do if/when available.

Nice. I'm going to try and snatch one up this week called Sunday and they have some but didn't have time to run into town and get it.
