New (to me) Tow Vehicle

I just sold my 07 Ram for a 2002 Excursion w/7.3 diesel. The Hemi did real well pulling the camper, but I was jealous of all my buddies with their diesels. I love the excursion!! Tons of room for the family. Can't wait to get the camper out to try out the diesel with all it's torque. Hurry up labor day weekend!

So you getting Excursion with the diesel?

Bottom line will be that you will have to keep looking in your mirrors because pulling any trailer with a diesel is effortless.

They don't make Excursions anymore. Not since 07 I beilieve.

That being said, he got one of the last great International engines made.

You won't be disappointed, at least until you have to rebuild the trans.

Excursions were made 2000-2005. The 7.3 TD was used 2000-2002. The 6.0 TD was 2003-2005. They switched early in 2003 to the 6.0, so there are just a handfull of 2003's with the 7.3.

My Excursion is completely stock. I read the transmission probs are with chipped trucks.

I'm sure there will be times when you'll miss that bed,but with that being said you're going to love all that interior room. Good luck with the new rig.
