New Trailer Delivery Checklist

Taking delivery on a new Rockwood 8312 next week, been scouring this sit for a while.. Is there a thread with a checklist of these are things you want to look at and ensure are properly working...

I plan on looking at 'everything' but was wondering if over the years a list was created that may come in handy?

Thanks...

I don't know of an "inspection" thread but from personal experience:

- Wear clothes that you aren't afraid to get dirty. Crawl under the unit to inspect the frame for rust or shoddy looking welds. Have them repaired before you either tow it home, or camp in it.

- If the unit is still winterized, take a few scraps of paper towel and dip into the sink traps to make sure it was actually winterized or ask them to de-winterize it while you're there and pressure test the system.

- Ask how to grease the axle bearings and if "E-Z-Lube" style, ask if they'll show you how to do it. Most Lippert axles have a bit of assembly lube and not much else.

- Check for wear locations in your furniture. Folding couch hinges can gouge paneling causing a long wait (2-3 weeks).

- Check the door operation. Is it relatively easy to latch from inside the camper? I felt like I was going to rip the inner handle off trying to close it without slamming the door.

Any "adjustments" that need to be made need to be done within 90 days of delivery.

It's called a PDI (Pre Delivery Checklist), and there are several posted throughout. A quick search on here should reveal several.

Post number 7 in this thread has one:

Make sure you give a copy of your PDI checklist to your dealer at least a day or two before hand so they know to expect a longer inspection. The one I had was about a 3 hour inspection. I truncated it to about 2-2.25 hrs, but she was glad I sent it because she was planning on her standard 1 hr walkthrough.
