Lightbulb New trend in RV body color???

How about starting a new trend of getting away from the flamboyant pinstripes, swooshes and swirls that every motorhome on the road has? I am thinking about ordering my new Georgetown painted 100% white, similar to the one pictured here. And shouldn't a white motorhome be cooler in the summer than the mostly black that Forest River paints them?

Hmmm. I am guessing this is custom.

Back in the day they had stripes. They look really dated now.

How about silver? White shows every spec of dirt.

IMO our white vehicles always look clean whereas dark colors, especially black, are hardest to keep clean. I agree that white surfaces stay cooler which also reduces the possibility of the surface itself overheating & warping or fading...

For the last couple years FR has been using a lot of brown on their TT's & 5ers & now at 2-3 years-old their brown fiberglass caps are fading across the top. When I saw them introduce all of those dark brown color schemes a few years ago I thought to myself, "These will look really bad when they fade..." I was right & glad I bought a (slightly) used white TT...

I really like some of the Monaco paint. Some accents but not too wild with lighter base colors.

I do like the tans and Browns over the white with blues and pinks from a few years ago. However, I agree white should be cooler and easier to keep clean. Also white will not fade as bad, it may dull but not fade. I'm just thankful they have started making the interiors a little more modern. The leaves and flower patterns are in every rv and horrible.

I never understood the trend of going with all those swirls and dark colors. Seems tacky to me. I like the mostly white with just a little flair. And contrary to a persons emotional response to a white vehicle of any kind showing more dirt, white actually hides dirt better than most of the dark colors. I've had cars of all colors and only the whites let you get away with not washing as much.

I agree with the thought of going white or mostly white If for no other reason than staying cooer.

I agree. That is a good use of just enough of flair and looks classier that all the swirls.

I have never really been a fan of the large/wild graphics used on RV's these days. Toy haulers in particular seem to be VERY wild in general. I seriously considered removing the graphics stickers on our trailer. However, after paying close attention to the few RV's out there without graphics, I decided that all one color was too plain. In my opinion, something small/basic is needed. And on that note...If I am not mistaken, it looks like the motorhome in the OP's picture has a thin pin stripe design? I like it.

I snapped a pic of this trailer I saw last year. I REALLY liked how it had some design to it but without the glaring graphics (plus I am a sucker for grays/silvers). If you look closely, you'll see that even the AC's are detailed to match the area they are mounted in.

edit...funny...I just took a closer look at the OP's picture and see that it is in fact a toyhauler!

You see manufactures going to the cream or tan fibreglass to get away from the straight white. I guess there is a mindset that lowerend trailers are white and higher end have fancy paint. I guess the only trend that will never end is the colour of an Airstream.

AS well as the custom paint job it looks like they removed some windows. Don't think a manufacturer would build so few windows.

I agree that too may of the paint schemes are too far out with the colors and stripes and swirls. We live near the paint shops for many 5ers, MH, ad Toy Haulers. I see the new ones sitting outside of their shops, and really think they have jumped the shark on design. Most times less is more. The Monaco in pic looks classy and clean.

That's a Dynamax Trilogy, they had models like that. The windows are exposed when the slides are extended. The side you are looking at would be bedroom and kitchen slides.

The grey fiberglass sides with alack of overdone graphics is one reason we went with this unit. I tuned it up some more when we got home by removeing 32 more stickers/graphics. The grey does not show dirt at all.

Very nice! Ya, grays and even whites are better for hiding dirt.
