The Camping World catalog showed it as a standalone as well. I normally don't like to be a guinea pig but this is tempting. It is considerably smaller and more compact than the x2 and also gains that second coax out. I see no mention of it getting the Eastern satellites though.

So basically it seems like it runs about 25 bucks cheaper than the x2, and would be easier to store...at the expense of eastern sats.

I did have a chance to try out the X2 and it is somewhat awkward to carry but it certainly nailed the satellite acquisition.

Just a note about that receiver-- It only has an HDMI output (and RCA). The previous version of the receiver had a coax output as well. This was useful for sending the HD signal to the primary TV via HDMI, and using the coax output to feed 2nd and 3rd televisions (although not HD quality). I upgraded my old tailgater with a new x2, and it also came with the new model receiver, however I just kept my older receiver and hooked up to that.

Thanks for the note on the receiver. I have so many parts laying around from all my years as an AV junkie, I am pretty sure i have a AV to coax converter so I should be ok either way but definitely a good point.

The press release is saying they worked hard to improve reception. I like the fact that it is half as heavy as the x2. I think I might give this a try.

If a person was to put a portable dish on top of their slideout...is there a weight limit that would be a consideration? The new tailgater comes in below 10 pounds where the pathway appears to be about 17 pounds.

Should not be a problem - the Crusader fifth wheel brochure shows a couple men standing on a slideout

I have walked on our previous campers while washing the roof but cannot walk on new camper as it has slide toppers !

Thanks! I did confirm the dish itself is the same size as previous version.
