Newbe in town - parking my Rockwood MiniLite 1901
Hi all, We just got home form our first trip with our new Rockwood MiniLite trailer. Had a great time! In our little town there are no codes against parking RVs in our driveways. My drive has a slope and I'm wondering how level I need my trailer to be when parked between trips. Thanks for your input and patience with a newbe's questions.

If you are not running your fridge, the camper does not need to be level. Just make sure the wheels are chocked good so that it doesn't roll down the driveway.

If you are not running the fridge while parked, just make sure the wheels are chocked well. If you intend to run the fridge before a trip, get as close to level as you can. These fridges do not have typical compressor type cooling systems. It's a boil and gravity return. Open the vent cover on the street side (drivers side) of your trailer and you should be able to see the return coils. If any of those get blocked by the return water/ammonia flow, you're running the risk of major problems.

Good to have you here.
Regarding how level you should have for your trailer, do you plan to run the fridge? You will need to be level for the fridge to run correctly.
Make sure to chock all wheels and I would use X-chocks, as well.

Thanks mtnguy and mhartzel! When parked, the fridge is turned off (electrical disconnected and propane tanks off). I certainly have the wheels chocked! I'll pull my rig to curb side (street is level) to start fridge before trips.

As for as leveling, I usually level it from the bumper to the tongue and not sideways.
Do you still have to level it sideways (width) to operate the frig?

Side to side leveling is not as critical if the fridge is on the side of the camper vs. the back wall. In other words, the fridge itself needs to be pretty level side to side, and not as critical front to back.

You'd be amazed at how UN-level roads can be. On our street, I need a good 4 blocks of the Lynx levelers to get to level side-to-side.

For sure, ependydad! The street is certainly crowned and so side to side is a bit off of level... but front to back the trailer will be level enough using the jack to run the fridge. If we were going to put guests in it I'd have to use wheel blocks to level side to side.
