The nice thing about a portable generator is you can also use them at the house if needed

Champion ?

Champion has a generator with a 50 amp receptical. I wish Honda made one. For the noise factor alone.

The Honda EU6500 is pretty manly and very quiet. They are an invertor generator which is good for electronics. As far as how many watts, do you really need to run everything at once?

A Honda EU6500 or the newer Honda 7000 should have enought power suit all your needs

WE HAVE THE EU6500 that not only ran our 5th
wheel but are friend's as well without missing a
beat, both were 30amp, we were running the
air but not our friends, everything else worked
without any problems

We looked at other generators but when asking
at Home Depot about repair they stated we
would have to bring it back to the store and
they would send it back for repair

So after pricing differant brands we bought a
Honda from a local dealer.

Yes it cost far more than other brands but the
warrenty was far better, if we do have a
problem we can take it back to the dealer for
repair no shipping back to MFG for repair, we
also move to the front of the line at the dealer
along with other's who bought from the dealer
and are not just a number wondering were our
generator is

Yes I like Honda, but a word of advise, I don't
care what brand you buy but if you buy from
one of the big box stores you may get a good
price, but the service will bit you in the end.

Will a any generator dealer fix your generator,
heck yes, will you get the same service from
that dealer if you would have bought from
him, maybe but IMO I don't think so.....

Ive gotten just as good service on my champions as the honda. ..BUT if you dont have a champ service center around it might not be as such....I will be selling off mine in a few weeks as we are going to a 5er TH with a genny built in....I will keep one of my 3 champy 2000 inverters.....they have been flawless for me!

What MC9 says. The 3500 watt Champion is a good unit at a good price. Runs my AC just fine.

Thanks for all the feedback. What I gather from this is that I can use a generator with 30 amp service on my 50 amp camper without any danger of damage to the trailer. Is there an adapter that I will need to connect the power cable ?
