Have an '03 Chevy D/M & Allison pulling 31" WJ with Blue Ox Sway Pro & hardly know it is back there; uphill or downhill. Only use tow/haul mode in steep hills, mainly going down hill.

Well the Chevy 3/4 ton just would not take any grade at all, I used a WDH. It just did not like that camper. When I traded camper in I pulled it to Tom Johnson Camping with a new one ton Silverado and the truck was fine. I kept my WDH just in case I get another TT

FYI-you should always use tow/haul mode when towing. It raises the trans line pressure for better up shifting and down shifting on a decline. The trans fluid will get burnt when towing and not in tow/haul mode.

I am new to the RV thing and am in the process of making a purchase. I am between the Keystone Bullet Premier 31bhpr , Coachmen 320bhds Freedom Express Liberty Ed., and the 292 Freedom Express Liberty Ed.

My wife and I love the 320 Freedom Express but I am concerned about its weight. I have a 2015 F150 3.5 Ecoboost with a 5.5 bed. My tow rating is 10700 and my payload is 1710lbs. Does anyone have experience towing a 320 freedom express? I wouldn't care if we were going camping close but we're going to be doing some 1k mile trips with it.

Our contenders the 292 and Bullet are both roughly 1300-1500 lbs less than the 320. Which is making me lean towards one of them, paticularly the 292. The only things well lose is the island. Kitchen slide, and bunk room slide, and larger attached shower. That sounds like a lot on paper though lol.

Thanks for the input.
My 312qbud is 1 level smaller (no island and Kitchen slide) than the same trailer as the Coachmen 320bhds.

I tow mine with a tundra half ton. I am going to recommend that you consider the 310bhds (same as my 312qbud) for you. The 320bhds is going to be too much trailer for your f150. The extra 500lbs between mine and yours is a big difference.

The reason I say it will be too much is that my 312qbud is right at the edge of the tundra which only has a payload of 1600lbs and I was right at 1600lbs with my setup.

I think you will be much happier with the 310bhds than the keystone 31BHPR (these are the same trailer, but by different manufacturers). But if you aren't considering the Coachmen 310bhds over the Keystone 31bhpr than the Keystone is the correct trailer for you.

Hope that helps?

I tow a 2015 non-liberty edition 292BHDS with a Ram 1500 5.7L hemi super crew with Blue Ox WDH.

I do get some slight push from trucks passing, other than that I haven't had problems towing it since I upgraded the WDH to the Blue Ox. Friction Sway was garbage with this combo.

I'd be concerned going any heavier or longer, though.

I already had to do some math and rearranging to keep us under our payload.

We always unload everything (clothing, food, bikes) into the TT before hitching up to leave. I load heavy items near trailer axels to reduce effect on tongue weight.

If I pack lazy and leave heavy stuff in the truck, i can exceed payload, although you have a slightly higher PL than I do.
