I'll second the vote for Gulf Shores State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama

Bahia Honda State Park, Big Pine Key, Florida

Curry Hammock State Park, Marathon, Florida

Clute Memorial Campground, Watkins Glen, New York

Camp Hatteras, Waves, North Carolina

Prouty Beach and Campground, Newport, Vermont

Lake Anna State Park, Spotsylvania, Virginia

Lake Guntersville State Park, Guntersville, Alabama

Lakeview Restaurant and Camping Resort, St. Agatha, Maine

There's lots more and I would add most of the State Parks in at least Alabama, Florida, and Virginia. I chose them not because they are the fanciest parks in the country, but because they are comfortable and their locations offer exploration, sightseeing, and recreation.

Captured all of these into a handy guide

I really liked all of these park recommendations so I pasted them into a print I can carry. Then I thought I should share it. Lastly, I was in a hurry and didn't give credit to the contributors like I should have. My apologies, but please know I (and I think others) are grateful for your responses.

How can we mark this thread to save for later? I love it! We liked camping in Yellowstone national park, Jackson hole Wyoming at Grand Teton. We're going back over there this year. We also like going in the smoky mountains - wang to go back to the Koa in Cherokee and would love to try some around gatlinburg. But I'm enjoying reading everybody's responses.

Thanks. I love the idea and that you have already done the work!
