Nice campground.

Anyone familiar with northern Michigan ? Looking for a nice campground within an hour of Mackinac City. Need electric and water hook up. Thanks!

You may be pressed to have water at the site. Several years ago, hubby and I discovered that many campgrounds in far Northern-Midwest... have no water.
The ground freezes and pipes break. They do have water for you to fill up your fresh water tank.
Good luck fining one. Keep us all posted.

Within an hour of Mackinaw covers a ton of territory.

If you're talking about the Lower Peninsula you could stay just outside of Mackinaw at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping or the KOA.
If you want full hook ups with huge camp sites then try the State Park at Grayling Michigan. Many pull thrus with trees between sites. There's a paved bike trail that goes for miles.

Try RV Park Reviews - Trusted Reviews of Campgrounds & RV Parks as there's good reviews of campgrounds through out the USA

Happy trails

We camp in that area all the time. There are a few KOA's that would be close. Gaylord KOA would be about an hour drive to Mack, just stayed there a couple weeks ago. Grayling has a Jellystone (altho it's a bit more than an hour to mack, it is straight up the highway)
there is a Jellystone in Indian River, which is quite close.
The state park with full hookups is Hartwick Pines. That is a very popular park, so usually quite full.
Take a look at
http://www.michcampgrounds.com/
that's at least a starting place.
Also, if you don't have to have water at the site, Wilderness State Park is great and is just outside Mackinaw City. Just across the straits is St. Ignace state park, right on the water looking at the bridge.
hth
cheers!

The KOA at Petoskey (35 mi south of bridge on US 31) is the best KOA we've ever stayed in. Full hookups, well maintained, clean & friendly. 5 stars!!!

The Straits S. P. In St. Ignace is nice, electric hookups but only fill up water. Right across bridge from Mackinaw City. Scenic area with lots to do.
