Sure hope none of the FRF Dodge owner are part of the huge by-back and recall program going on right now. I'm to understand that a few hundred thousand pickups that can't be fixed are being bought back from the owners. The NHTSB has the full details of the recall.
That would be a real bummer to buy the truck you want, add thousands of dollars of towing equipment and custom good, maybe a transfer tank and custom wheels and find out you have to sell it back to the manufacturer due to a defect in the steering and suspension.

Never heard that one. Back in the 60's when I was a teenager, it was fix or repair daily and found on road dead. Can't say that anymore for us. We had a Minnie Winnie with the Triton V10 which treated us good and now our new MH is the E450. Will have to see how this one holds up. Only 2000 miles so far.

Oh no...that stinks that your TV was stolen. (For a 2006, it looks like she was well taken care of!)

I gotta give my hat tip to Toyota Trucks....I drove the living snot out of my 2005 Tacoma until last year when I traded her in for a 1-year old Tundra that, easily, pulls our 33-foot Rockwell. (My Dad and brother are also Toyota Truck guys and nobody has ever had any big issue....they're about as close to indestructible as you can get, IMHO.)

Best of luck!

You could always get a buddy to haul you to the campground. I'm sure your dealer can deliver.

OnStar recovery only works if you subscribe to the OnStar program.

So here's my warning: There are (at least) 4 can-of-worms subjects on this forum:

1. Gas vs Diesel
2. Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge (vs Toyota, et al)
3. Bike racks on TT's
4. Air vs nitrogen in tires

Probably a good motor but why the name change??
Duramax V8 is a JOINT venture with Isuzu and GM. It is not just an Isuzu engine. And not just for Chevy....It's called Duramax by all who use it, including AM General (Humvee) and including the future Oshkosh JLTV Humvee replacement).

Ram has to use Cummins since they don't make one themselves or even make one in a joint venture. However, now that they are OWNED by FIAT of Italy, possibly they will get a FIAT engine in the future. Not knocking Fiat, they actually make some good small diesels. The ecodiesel used in the small RAM is made by VM Motori, a subsidiary of Fiat Motors.

And there are some rumors at Chrysler that sometime in the future, a larger diesel will come from VM Motori.

Rent a truck and enjoy your weekend. Maybe you have a friendly dealership that will let you try before you buy?
And yet another reason I don't so at Sam's a club or wally world.
Good luck.
Come on MCTroy,,,
Our Sam's parking lot is as safe as any place you could shop !!!
Probably safer than Meijer ???

The Chevy 2500 Duramax is a great tow vehicle, but something a little less pricey you may want to look at is the new Silverado 1500 with the Max Trailering Package. This truck has an 11,400 Lb towing capacity. I tow a 7300 lb Rockwood 8293RKSS and the towing improvement over my old 1999 Silverado 1500 is amazing. I can cruise the highway at 70 mph with cruise control on and the anti sway system almost makes you forget you have a trailer behind you. When you climb a hill the engine rpm smoothly increases about 1000 rpm with smooth, even acceleration. I am sure a Duramax would be better on the hills, but here in the Southeast, our hills aren't that big so the 5.3 does a good job. Unlike towing with my old truck, towing with this 2015 Silverado 1500 is actually relaxing; no constant steering corrections or tense moments when an 18 wheeler fly's by. This may not be the truck you would want or need, but if your trailer weight is compatible, you may want to consider it. Good luck and I'm sorry some bum is forcing you to buy a new truck.

We recently bought our TV, a Ram 3500. It's the base model with some options. Not sure if it's an option or if it's standard but it has a chip on the steering wheel shaft that can easily be removed. When that chip is removed, it can't be started by any means.

Might be something to look at for your next TV. And most Sam's stores have fairly extensive video surveillance...did the police check with them to see if they had any video?
