no suspension on my fifth wheel

okay so I was thinking of putting in a shock kit on my 2009 306BH Surveyor 5th wheel. I had heard that some fifth wheels have shock mounts already so I went out to look if mine did. much to my surprise it not only didnt have any shock mounts but it does not have any springs or anything. it looks like two axels just bolted to the bottom of the frame. I was floored.. but now understand why it bounced around so bad last time it was out. so now I am wondering if anyone else had a similar case and did add shocks or springs and how much it might run (ballpark number I know prices vary in different cases). or is it even possible to put them on. I will try to post some pictures this weekend to further explain it.

Jon,

This is what you have under your trailer.
Take a closer look!

AL-KO rubber torsion suspension system. Shock absorbers are inherent in the system.

Jon

It should not bounce unless there is something seriously wrong, which is not likely in a 2009 model trailer. There is no such thing as adding shocks to the rubber torsion suspension.

I would suspect that maybe the suspension of your truck is too stiff, is your truck a Dually? They make air ride pin boxes to soften the ride, I'm out of my element here. We need a 5er owner to chime in.

It could be how you have it loaded. If too much weight is in the rear and not a lot on the tongue it could make it sway and bounce alot.

I have to be careful with my toy hauler. I pull with a 1-ton dually chevy
