non dealer warranty work

Looking to purchase my first FR product. Cedar creek 38ck 5er. It will be a seasonal trailer sitting at the campground. (not a fulltimer, just w/e and vacas).
I am wondering if anyone knows if FR uses non dealer authorized warranty repair services. (like independent contractors.). I will have no means to get it to a dealer IF it needs any warranty work.
Any info I can get will be greatly appreciated.

It depends on the situation. You most likely will have to pay for the service visit fee, but FR will pony up for the actual labor and parts (according to their guide). You'll need preauthorization for most work.

yes, you can use an independent RV shop to do warranty work BUT you have to get pre-approval first and be willing to be reimbursed for the costs.

Thank you both. That goes a long way in helping me make up my mind.
I don't mind covering the cost so long as I will be reimbursed for the parts. But we all know nothing ever goes wrong.. lmao

Yes agree need to get it authorized by FR to go to another place. We live 3 hours from our warranty place so would be all day thing for work done. Called explained and they authorized a shop half hour from house. Had to have several warranty things to be fixed after first trip we took after buying our 5th wheel FR was very accommodating to our needs.

Unless the mobile service tech is authorized and works with FR. I agree, usually the service visit fee is NOT covered and yes, get preauthorization from FR yourself unless the service tech is nice enough to do that too.

Thanks again all. It is great to hear from more than 1 person of their experiences and thoughts. It is good to know that there are many good people out there willing to lend a hand. As soon as I get a chance will be writing down the info to put in may new trailer folder.

Echoing the same response. I have a seasonal, Trilogy fiver and have taken it twice to non-dealer (Giant Recreational World, Melbourne FL) for service. I did inquire about having them come to me, the fee was $150.00. I was able to get it to them and service was beyond expectations each time.
The factory support is key. You should be fine with Cedar Creek. There are other Forest River brands that I would not take a chance on.

That's a good point. My Sabre warranty manager took care of me in Florida. They arranged a dealer to come out and visit me at the campsite. I never saw the bill or gave a penny other than some muscle to help the guy.
