Not What We Needed!

We had the low tire pressure light go on as we were heading out after work to get to our campsite before dark this evening. It ended up that we had a nail in one of the back truck tires. So, the tire went flat, but the blessing was that we had already traveled through the Goethe State Forest and had hit a town where we could pull into a wide gas station, alongside the air pump, on the right side of the truck. We changed the tire and went on our way, but hit the campground after dark. Tight spaces and the guy next to us was just in front of us, so we helped him back in. He helped us back in, then we helped a lady back into her site. She just picked up her class B today and this is the first night ever in her camper. She has not had one before. She just came knocking because a palmetto bug was on her sofa bed and she is afraid of bugs. DH went over and killed it for her because I am now in my pajamas. The main thing is that we are set up now and relaxing a bit before bed. Way to top off a very stressful week at work! I am truly ready for tomorrow!

It's folks who help, even when they've had some stressors of their own, that make me look forward to our next trip.

The bug story is awesome. Side note, funny how when you help someone they kind of start looking at you like you are the landlord

Luckily you live in Florida and your spare tire came loose. Here in Michigan if you buy your truck in the winter you have about a 2 hour window to use your spare before the cable latch system rusts up and will not work anymore lol.

Glad y’all got fixed up and were able to help neighbors.

Maybe consider carrying a 12v air compressor? Makes filling/topping up tires easier.

We are here for a Big Green Egg Fest. You buy a ticket for $25.00 and you then go around and sample food that is cooked on the Eggs. You vote for your favorite. They have three tasting categories - breakfast, lunch, and dessert. It’s fun to see what folks make, how they cook it, and meet new people. We’ve been to one in the past. That is where we purchased our large Egg. We also got the mini-max for camping. This is the view from our site and what we see out our back window.

Yes, we are going to kayak as well. We are in Homosassa, Florida and there are seven rivers in the area. We are backed onto a creek that extends out to the Halls River. That is, if it doesn’t rain. Rain is in the forecast for tonight, but it’s clouding up pretty good now. Maybe early tomorrow morning,if nothing else. This is the view from our site and our back window.

I disagree, sounds EXACTLY what you needed.. A little adventure getting there, a little adventure after arriving and made a few new friends to boot. Now some lady will run around hailing your husbands name as the bug slayer to those near and far! Awesome!

I am glad to know that I am not the only EggHead on this forum. I have had my large for 10 years and carry a MiniMax in my Cedar Creek. Please post some pictures of the Egg Fest

Fun with food! Sounds great.

Several years ago we snorkeled there in the Crystal River with the manatees. Kayaking sounds like a great way to see them, too.

Very nice!

I had my own adventure a couple of weeks ago (checked my mail at my PO Box in a UPS store after hours on a Friday night and got locked in there for two hours before the police and fire truck arrived)...

Anyway, I installed a TPMS system on my 5'ver last fall before the final trip of the season and right off the bat (about 100 miles from home) it alerted me to low pressure in one tire, to which I discovered a nail!

Got my money's worth on the first trip!

Getting it fixed in Canon City, Colorado:

Actually as a retired farm hand (Yes after I retired from the military I was adopted to help on family farm.)

If you use never seize (We call it chicken ***** as it looks the same) on the cables and mechanisms you wont have an issue even in winter. All my lugs are covered in such also and your torque ratio does not change nor loosen.

Give it a try.

Here are a few pictures from the Eggfest. It rained for just a few minutes. I’m glad it held off, because there are big thunderstorms ahead.

I cannot figure out how to turn the last photo.

Glad the weather worked out for your event.

We were in Crystal River last week on a break-in road trip with our new F-350 so we can tow our trailer on a multi-week trip starting this week. Went back to CR just to eat at Dan's Clam Stand! If you haven't eaten there I can highly recommend it for lunch or dinner.

And a 12v extension cord

If you get a 12v extension cord like this one you can use the compressor to fill up a slow-leaking tire and drive to the tire place. It's quicker and safer than changing the tire roadside.

Before you leave home, make sure the cord is long enough to reach all the tires on your rig.
