Oil change cost class c

I have the forester 3051 in for a few little warranty work and decided to get the oil changed. How much have others paid for just the oil and filter? My dealer wants $99.

Sounds expensive, even for synthetic. I bought 2 gallons of Amsoil and a PureOne synthetic filter for under $80. That leaves me with two extra quarts of oil. With non-synthetic and a motocraft filter you could probably do it for under $40 yourself.

I think it is kind of high, tried a different dealer, $85 for oil change with all other fluids topped off, batteries and lights checked.

Kind of depends on what you get besides oil and filter.

Hi West Cactus. Assuming that you have a Ford V-10, oil and filter, on sale, will cost +/- $45. Double that +/- if the dealer performs the service - so I would say that the dealer price is right on line.
Regards, Al

For what it's worth, I checked with the local Jiffy lube place and they wanted $50 to do the change, if I supplied the oil and filter. My 2006 Ford V-10 takes right at 7 qts with the oil cooler. For that price I can roll up under there a few more times, cheap I am!

I get it done on my Silverado for $36 and I furnish the oil, they lube, check tires, fill washer fluid, check lights, check disc pads, furnish filter, dispose of oil and filter. Good price and they are honest.
