For those that that have not driven a 15 or 16 truck your in for a big surprise. The ride and performance it way better than it ever was. They are quiet better than some cars I've driven. I'll mention my truck as I had a 2010 Chevy dully traded for my 2015 3/4 Chevy. It's a crew cab and even the folks that have ridden in the back have commented how nice it rides and how quiet it is. I'll bet no matter which make you buy if it's new you will not even think you driving a truck. Later RJD

I could not locate that model ? Could it be a 27BESS ? If so, what I read it has a dry weight of 5246, and a gross weight of 6629lbs.

Check the CCC on door frame on all trucks you look at. Also, keep in mind if you camp once a month, all within a day's drive from your house, you will need a truck 24 days a year. The rest of the time I'm assuming you will need a daily driver? Let the wife drive both too.....LOL !

I have access to a 2014 Ford F-250 gasser which my company leases. Nice truck, but I can tell the difference from my truck! Feels like a work truck being heavy, louder, not as responsive. I would not shy away from it if I needed a bigger / heavier truck, and also needed a pulling vehicle for more than 30 days a year.

If you decide you need a bigger truck, also check out the Dodge 2500 with the bigger HEMI......they look good!

Good luck, hope you find what best fits your families needs.......and Congradulations on the new TT !

Purchase Report:
Went to the local dealer with a friend who used to work at the dealership and met the salesman.
Kicked some tires on a few trucks because the salesman was out on a test drive.

The inventory of F250 gassers was slim. Just a few, a lot of F150 EBs and several diesels to chose from.
Found a 2016 F250 Lariat 2WD Super Duty that had been returned by the original owner. He traded it for a 4WD. Certified Pre-owned with 3600 miles on it. Price was 49K. All said and done I paid 46K with 7yr/100000 bumper to bumper warranty and 36K mile maintenance contract. Oil changes, tire rotations, roadside mantenance the works.

So far happy with the TV. Will see what it looks and performs like when I do my PDI for the trailer on the 25th of this month.
Like I said in the OP, "I'm in" What for I'm not sure, but I'm in.

Nice asquared.
I can barely post text much less pictures but will do my best.
Leaving town tomorrow for a few days. I hope to post pics of both the TV and TT. Doing the PDI on the 25th. Will get a pic of both then for sure.
Now if I can just get them to you guys. I cut them out with scissors and paste them on my screen. You guy's cant' see them?
OK, I will make a better attempt.

Hi Wheels Down
Congrats on the new Trailer! Good Luck with the new truck. For your Trailer PDI remember to bring a DVD so you can check the DVD player. Bring a pad of paper to jot down notes during PDI. It comes in handy later.

RKNOLA,
Thanks for the tips. I downloaded a few PDI checklist from this site a while back and will use those as a guide to not miss anything. The DVD is a good tip, forgot that one. Thanks again.

I just like the safety margin involved. Bigger frame, drive-train and brakes kinda get your attention when your talking about dragging 4 tons behind you.
Thanks for your replies.

Had the eco boost and it pulled , but was hard to stop , it did not take long for me to get rid of it. better off going bigger , We went all the up to 1 ton diesel duramax . And happy i did

The apparent cost to maintain a Diesel is a non issue. I have had 6 half ton Pickups and now my first Diesel. I don't see a big difference, maybe oil change costs a bit more. I save on Fuel so its a trade off. I bought a larger truck but need up with a F 250 Superduty more than enough payload for our next Fifth Wheel.
