Onan 4000 Series Generator

Have a 2006 SunSeeker that we purchased about 2 years ago. Generator worked fine when I tested it monthly but on a recent trip it would not run when we really needed it. Main problems were surging and stalling. Changed and gapped the spark plug and used a new air filter. Seems to be running better but when I did a test run, it stalled after about 1.5 hours. I thought it might now be the fuel filter but can not locate it. Anyone know where it is located? Also, appears to be the original generator but only has 166 hours.

The fuel filter is on the bottom left side behind the control module. Same location as the fuel pump. If your fuel tank has more than a 1/4 tank, I bet you need a fuel pump. Both available from Amazon. Hope this helps.

I changed the fuel pump, filter, spark plug, and air filter. Made a big difference
