More on topic: The NewJersey/Tesla conflict is a good strating point. Could Forest River start selling through company owned dealers? Buffet certainly has the clout. When a company wants to control the whole Customer Experience, they start owning the Point Of Sale, too. See Apple.
LOL Funny you should say that Eric - that is PRECISELY why I am a Apple user (we have a AWESOME Apple Store in Huntsville!)

Ford Dealer: Actually in Decatur - 30 miles from my house - I repay good customer service with loyalty - we will be buying another Ford from them this year. Go to them for service as well - last week's oil change also apparently included complete interior cleaning and wash/wax that is so good it looks like a detail job!

Dandy RV in Anniston AL - 89 miles from our house. Best.RV.Dealer.Ever.

I agree with you Eric X10!

I doubt anybody's gonna stop you from leaving if you really need to. Well, except maybe the PPST. Who knows what they'll get up to.

Or into.....

It should be relatively trouble free as the "troublemaker" will not be attending this year.

Not necessarily. As I've stated before, I believe there are by far, more happy people out enjoying their campers, than are spending time on forums, looking for answers to problems they are having. This is not meant to diminish anything for those who have problems though.

As to the Ford/dealer comparison. Ford didn't do anything other than supply the buyer with a build date. Most of his satisfaction came from the dealer. The letter to FR, I think, would be better served by having them take responsibility over their dealers. If the dealers don't perform to satisfactory levels, pull their dealership. I truly believe the biggest downfall of the RV industry, is the dealer. A good dealer is great to have, anything less can lead to a bad experience. FR can make improvements in Quality Control, that's a given, and most factory reps will admit this. They are building for the masses, you can't please all the people, all the time. Some want a cheap price tag, some want a high end unit, some want both. Only by being constructive in our criticism, can we change the way things are done. Peace!

Very well stated AquaMan. GOOD JOB!
See, it does help when you are not physically around FT Turbs for 9-10 months.

Shoot, it took him 8 months to get his cranium removed from 'where the sun doesn't shine' after being around you for only 5 days.

I have to give a strong second to BamaBob. I've bought five of my six RVs from dealers and never did business with any of them twice. My experience has been that you are dropped like a hot rock as soon as they have your money - no matter how much it was. Most, but not all of my experiences with service departments have been bad, generally requiring multiple return trips. The worst case was returning 9 times with the same problem and having the service manager pretend he didn't know me. (To make matters worse, I told him what the problem was on the first visit but he ignored me because I'm not a mechanic.)

The jokes made about used car salesmen really do apply to most RV dealerships. It's the worst thing about buying and owning an RV.
