One recommendation also. Don't trust the clearance signs that are posted to be 100% accurate. Speed Channel had a program a couple years ago "WRECKED" and quite a few episodes involved trucks getting stuck under overpasses and the signs were visible. But as someone posted earlier the road had been repaved and the signs had not been changed. The difference between making it and not making could be one course of asphalt. If it's real close to your height you may want to find another route or measure that thing yourself before you're sorry you didn't.

I don't think you have to be stupid to do something like that, after all 99% of the time we pass under these things in our cars without a second thought. All it takes is a distraction and you don't realize what vehicle you are in. I pulled into a car wash in my motor home just as my phone rang and pow, off went the roof top luggage box.

Well, after reading, I got up, went outside, got my ladder, yardstick and tape measure and commenced to measuring. I am going to give myself at least 11 foot clearance, just to be sure I clear the air conditioner on top. I know the width is 9 foot, length 28 from the rear forward. Now to put up a force field for protection...

Although this may not assist you on the road but in planning getting in and out of your camping area. The picture below shows the Nashville area where we are going to camp over part of spring break.

The drop pins with numbers shows bridge heights. Do I trust it, no but there is a bridge there. This is the allstays camp and rv app. Shows campgrounds, gas dumps and many other things.

I would stay away from the areas marked by the pins, too close to downtown....try the Army Corps Campgrounds east of town, Cages Bend, Seven Points, Cedar Creek, etc. if they are open. Nashville Shores also has a campground near Percy Priest Lake, east of town off of I-40. A good app though to use...live near Nashville.

There is a town in Ont. that has an old railroad tunnel under the road. You would be surprised at how many long vehicles get trapped trying to go over it.

I still have to take my new unit to a level parking lot and measure the height. The paperwork says 12-9, but it does not state if that is with or without the front A/C. I would really hate having an ID10T error on the highway.

Measure ours today..12'-0 to top of AC Unit..that's pretty high..to high for our 11'-4" car port awning..what a b__tch!
