Our 1st long distance trip... from Texas to Florida!

Our trip from central Texas to Destin Florida. We stayed one night outside Livingston LA on the way to Florida and stayed 2 nights in New Orleans on the way back home. First time pulling the trailer that far. We usually stay at lakes around us no more 50 miles away or so. Truck and trailer both worked flawlessly. We all had the best of times!

I know how yall like pictures, so here you go...

PS... the black truck pulling the Cougar are our friends that went with us... not stalkers HaHa!

GREAT pictures. Thanks so much! I loved 'em.

Especially the Congressman you captured in the next to last picture. How'd you capture one? LOL

Cool pix...thx! In which campground did you stay near Nola? Planning a trip from TLH, FL to Corpus Christi next year and thinking about spending a couple of days in Nola...your info would be much appreciated.

KOA West was the name. Nice place around 10 miles from the French Quarter. They offer free shuttle service to the French Quarter twice a day.

Looks like you had a great time! Is I10 still as rough as it used to be?

It wasn't as bad as I had heard. Some spots were down right ridiculous, but those were actually under construction. For the most part it was easy driving.

Ummm yes? Think that's an issue? Not sure how I could see an issue with that. Even with 1000 tanks I wouldn't see an issue.

Great pics!

I've made this drive several times. I grew up in Texas, I lived outside New Orleans for many years and we are moving to Pensacola, Fl. next week. Anyone coming this way do not stay in either camp ground in Slidell, that's where I live now and they are not very good. They have lots of transit workers live there. There is a very nice campground on the edge of the French Quarter named "French Quarter RV Resort".

I've been through the Mobile Tunnel many times and never had an issue, no signs advising against it.

The stretch of I10 between Lafayette and the Atchafalya Basin is absolutely horrible, I travel it just about every trip west. Where did you stay in Destin? We have stayed @ Camp Gulf when we take the grandkids with us.
