I'm another "Go for it" person. We've been camping in the rain and our 2 boys had a BALL out there! We ended up going to Walmart to buy new socks and whatnot since there was no way those clothes where going to get clean. In fact, that was the 1st time I took them to the bath house for a shower. I had forgotten about that! We always bathed them in the camper before that.

We've also been is a situation where my youngest son was colicky and not nursing, it was super hot and humid and everyone was miserable. We packed up that night and went home to the A/C and had a great time playing in the sprinkler!

My point is ... go and have fun. You can always come home if it's not working out.

I wouldn't let the weather deter my plans. Your son won't care if it rains or not. It's still an adventure. It sounds like you do enough outdoor activities that you have all the gear you need to enjoy the outdoors, even in crappy weather and at the end of the day you will have a warm, dry unit to come home to. In the evening you can watch a DVD or strig a tarp, build a fire, and carry on like its not raining
