Yep, Feds with sunglasses have no sense of humor!

I've spent many months at Tonapah Test Range (TTR) in Nevada and the northern gate often had the curious trying to get a peak at an other-than-earth "person" but the civilian poo-poos had VERY high text gear (hidden) so the curious didn't even make it close to the gate before being surrounded.

(Y'all can look up what TTR is but remember that 99% of the stuff on the internet is crapola.)

Oh, cut that AARP card and get AMAC....MUCH better organization, IMHO.

Our Unexpected Arrival at the CIA

I was in Shreveport LA and got in the wrong lane...you will enter barksdale AF base. I was just in my PU, but I always have a gun or two. Luckily I was nice and so where the armed guards they allowed me to turn around and leave, but I was "in" the base.

They were in their "Mini Cooper" No RV involved! Just "Two Lost Souls"! Youroo!!

Driving a Mini Cooper is enough to to raise my suspicion. If they had whipped out their AARP cards, well, that would have put me on full alert.

I probably would have found myself at GITMO. Way to much opening to have some fun. But, on the other hand you have to give it to them for protecting the country.

They all did have sunglasses. I felt like I was in a Doonesbury CIA scene. 😁

Last June we and another couple were finishing up a sea land cruise/tour and drove to The Naval Air Station Whidbey Island Washington. Our friends son is in the Navy and we thought since we were in the area we'd just pop in and look at the "visitor center".
Well there isn't a visitor center at that base and they stopped us at the
gate and help up traffic while they looked over our pass ports and drivers licensees and called it in. We sat there about 10 minutes while cars lined up behind us.
We told them we just figured an air base would have a place for civilians to visit. Not!
They let us go with a not too stern a warning.
Mostly we were embarrassed and sorry that we held up the folks trying to get to work on time...

It's all part of the adventure!
