Outside Kitchen

We just got our Sabre 32BHOK and one of the things we were very excited about was the outdoor kitchen. We are disappointed though that the fridge only operates on AC. We like to camp in places where there are no plug ins which seems to make this fridge useless unless we run our generator all the time.

Has anyone ever changed the fridge to a 2 - way that could run on propane? or is there another way around this?

We knew the outside refrigerator was only AC when we purchased our Rockwood 8293RKSS. I don't think you will be able to convert this model; you may have to look at purchasing a different refrigerator to be able to do this.

I think you will have a problem trying to find a 2 way fridge for the outside kitchen as they need to vent out the top (also they are always mounted with the back to an outside wall to allow access to the ignitor etc.) if you go up on your roof you will see an elongated vent and that is the fridge vent.

There are power inverters available (12V DC to 120V AC) up to 1500W. It would require a little wiring work to get the 12V out to the kitchen. Not sure how much drain it would put on the batteries.....

Probably not unless you have a lot of battery power and a large solar panel
